Tanah Abang Market, Central Jakarta, was reopened following the easing of Level 4 Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) in DKI Jakarta, Monday (26/7).

The operation of Tanah Abang Market is only until 15.00 WIB.
Tanah Abang Market Manager, Heri Supriyatna, said that the entire Tanah Abang Market area, including textile and clothing stores, from Blocks A, B, F, and G is open from 07.00 WIB to 15.00 WIB.

"The entire Tanah Abang Market area is open today, provided that it is 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.," said Heri.

Heri explained that according to government regulations, the market visitor capacity is limited to a maximum of 50 percent.

On the other hand, visitors to Tanah Abang Market must show a Covid-19 vaccine card when they want to shop at the largest wholesale center in Indonesia.

"You must show a Covid-19 vaccine card, at least one dose. Valid in all markets," said Heri.

Heri explained that the obligation to show vaccine cards for both traders and visitors applies throughout the Tanah Abang Market area, namely Blocks A, B, F and G.

The obligation to show this vaccine card is in order to prevent the potential for increasing active cases of Covid-19 with severe symptoms. In addition, this regulation is also to mobilize the community in accelerating the national vaccination program.

Based on management records, currently more than 21,000 shop employees, employees managing Block A, B, F and Block G Tanah Abang have been vaccinated against Covid-19.

Previously, President Joko Widodo extended PPKM Level 4 for the period from July 26 to August 2, 2021. The government set a number of adjustments and loosened restrictions on people's activities and mobility.

Tanah Abang Market is temporarily closed due to the implementation of Emergency PPKM and Level 4 which is valid from 3-25 July. Only markets that sell food ingredients, namely Block G, are allowed to operate.
