A total of 1,577 bal presses from Malaysia were destroyed by Teluk Nibung Customs and Excise at the Teluknibung Customs and Excise Warehouse, Bagan Asahan Village, Tanjungbalai District, Asahan Regency, North Sumatra, Tuesday (3/8/2021).
The head of Teluk Nibung Customs and Excise, I Wayan Sapta Dharma, explained that the illegal goods came from security carried out by the Indonesian Navy in 2018.
"All of these items came from the security carried out by Lanal TBA on April 28, 2018," said Wayan.
He continued, the evidence was secured from two ships and two suspects from Malaysia who are still on the DPO.
"The prosecution of two ships and two people is still DPO," said Wayan.
In relation to him, the extermination took too long, he said that there must be a court decision with permanent legal force.
"So this is destroyed because there has been a decision that has permanent legal force so that this item has been determined to be confiscated belonging to the state and action is taken today," he said.
He continued, the destroyed goods were worth Rp. 4.7 billion and were not included in the tax.
"In total, all these goods are worth more than Rp. 4 billion. However, these goods are not included in the state tax. Because these goods are illegal goods," said Wayan.
"Because if the entry of illegal goods can disrupt the production of textile goods in the country," he explained.
