The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) continues to boost the productivity of chemical, pharmaceutical, and textile (IKFT) industrial companies. This is done by continuing to oversee the implementation of health protocols which are the key to industrial development during the pandemic.

Director General of IKFT at the Ministry of Industry Muhammad Khayam said the application of health protocols in industrial companies and industrial estate companies provides space to maintain the productivity of the sector. This has an impact on the economic sector and the manufacturing industry which have shown growth in the second quarter of 2021 by 7.07 percent and 6.91 percent.

To ensure the implementation of health protocols by industrial companies in the ceramics and textile sector holding Operational and Mobility Industrial Activities (IOMKI) licenses, Khayam conducted a review at PT Surya Toto Indonesia Tbk and PT Adis Dimension Footwear PCC in Cikupa, Tangerang.

"Within almost two years, the companies we reviewed were able to implement health protocols in more detail, of course after going through a trial and error process. Currently, the concept of implementing health protocols in companies is 6M plus 3T," said Khayam.

The implementation of 6M in the company refers to the Circular Letter of the Minister of Industry Number 3 of 2021 concerning IOMKI during the Covid-19 Public Health Emergency Period. In the regulation, there is an obligation to implement health protocols which include 6M: wearing masks properly, washing hands with soap and running water or disinfectant liquid, maintaining distance, avoiding and preventing crowds, avoiding eating together, and reducing movements that are not directly related to work activity.

While 3T is an early examination (testing), tracking (tracing), and treatment (treatment) to break the chain of transmission of COVID-19.

"We observe that the physical distancing carried out in Toto is also maximal. So even if there are employees who are exposed, the transmission is not from the company cluster," he said.

He said companies holding IOMKI must report their activities electronically every Tuesday and Friday through the National Industrial Information System portal or SIINas. This is to ensure the implementation of health protocols in industrial environments.

"By complying with these rules, it is hoped that the factory can run with normal utilization, and it can even continue to increase to meet the community's needs for industrial products during the pandemic," concluded Khayam.
