The domestic textile and textile product industry is ready to welcome the government's plan to implement a work from office (WFO) policy with 100% capacity. This plan has been revealed since the beginning of this week in line with the policy of easing WFO activities to 100% for essential sectors such as export-based industries.
Secretary General of the Indonesian Filament Fiber and Yarn Association (APSyFI) Redma Gita Wirawasta assessed that this step was more appropriate than the determination based on essential, critical or non-essential or non-critical sectors.
"It can be applied 100%. Our proposal from the beginning is that the sector is opened, but the conditions are vaccines, so there is no need to look at the export, non-export, critical, essential sectors. It's a bit complicated. For example, this is a critical or essential sector, but supporting companies are not included in the category, it's stuck, the value chain linkage is disrupted," he said.
According to him, a more precise determination of industrial activity is based on vaccination. If the company has carried out vaccinations, it can be looser and vice versa.
"For example, if the vaccine is 50%, he can go 50%. So it's not a critical issue but how many people are being vaccinated. So it's easy for the vaccine to enter, no the vaccine can't go in. In our own association company, the first dose of vaccination is 95% while the second dose is 70 %," said Redma.
When PPKM was tight, factory utilization had touched a low number. The reason is because the movement of the industrial sector is subject to restrictions.
"Now it's good again because two weeks ago some areas were level 3. During the emergency PPKM yesterday, utilization was around 50%, now it's increased because like Karawang, it was level 3 from last week, Tangerang has also," he explained.
After relaxing through the reduction in PPKM levels, the government is also selecting which companies can participate in this policy. The list of companies participating in this trial was determined by the Ministry of Industry.
"We are currently testing the implementation of industrial activities that are classified as essential sectors at full capacity or 100%. During the implementation of the Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM), the essential industrial sector may only operate 50% in one shift," said Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang. Kartasasmita.
