The export trend of several commodities from a number of companies in Tangerang Regency to a number of countries has revived. This is at least reflected in data from the Tangerang Regency Industry and Trade Office (Disperindag), which recorded the export value in 2021 reaching Rp 22 trillion, an increase of around Rp 800 billion in the previous year which recorded a figure of Rp 21.2 trillion.

Commodities of footwear, processed foods, textiles and textile products, plastic goods and sugar are again exported by a number of companies in Tangerang Regency to various export destination countries such as China, the United States (US), England, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Australia, Malaysia, Philippines and India.

Head of Trade at the Industry and Trade Office, Iskandar Nordat, said the Tangerang Regency Industry and Trade Department recorded that the export value from Tangerang Regency reached Rp 22 trillion. This figure increased compared to the export value of the previous year, which was Rp. 21.2 trillion.

"Until now, what has been recorded in the Disperindag Regency, our export value in 2021 will reach Rp. 22 trillion. But this figure does not represent the overall export data in Tangerang Regency, because not all companies report it," said Iskandar.

Iskandar stated that in the previous year export activities in Tangerang Regency had experienced a decline. This is because many businesses have been affected by the pandemic. In addition, there are a number of countries that have adopted policies to limit community activities.

"Especially for exports, this is very influential on overseas buyers. At the end of last year several countries imposed restrictions on import-export activities, and this has an impact on the products we will export, especially in 2020," he explained.

Iskandar hopes that the pandemic will end soon so that exports in Tangerang Regency can grow back steadily. It is hoped that the export trend will not decline again, but will increase every year, and other commodities can participate in this export activity.

"The number of declines in exports recorded a decline because exporters could not send goods to destination countries. For example, exports to China were hampered due to the closure of access there, but in December 2020 exports were able to grow again with a positive trend in the fourth quarter (Q4) ," he said.
