Not only the textile industry's liquid waste that threatens the environment, but the production of textiles such as clothing is also a problem if it is not managed properly. Currently, most of the clothes that are not used become garbage that accumulates in the final disposal site (TPA). Global data shows that there are as many as 92 tons of textile waste generated per year. This amount is equivalent to one garbage truck that comes to the landfill every second. This was conveyed by Syarifa Yurizdiana, an activist for Zero Waste Indonesia, at a webinar held by the Department of Community Service Student Family Student Executive Board (BEM KM)

Faculty of Psychology Universitas Airlangga He added that globally, the average woman uses one of their clothes only 7 times.

One way that can be done to reduce textile waste is to give clothes that are still fit for use to people in need or to special shelters for used clothes.

Such as drop boxes for clothes and shoes that are suitable for use provided by the Batununggal Indah Compost House. This drop box is located in the Jelita Cluster, Batununggal Indah. The procurement of this drop box supports the community to reuse.

Reuse is reusing items that have been used. By reusing clothes and shoes that are still feasible, it will minimize the textile waste generated.

It should be realized that the production of the textile industry cannot be stopped. Therefore, people must be wise in buying clothes and also have to be smart in managing clothes that are no longer used so that they don't end up in the landfill.
