The Directorate General of Customs and Excise at the Ministry of Finance (DJBC Ministry of Finance) continues to show its side in supporting increasing exports in Indonesia. A number of facilities are provided to encourage the development of the business world and increase the company's competitiveness on a global scale. The forms include Bonded Zone Facilities, Import Facility for Export Purposes (KITE), and Special Economic Zone Facilities (SEZ).
“The Bonded Zone Facility is a facility provided by the government in order to encourage processing or manufacturing companies to export because this company has an obligation to export. If he goes locally, he can, but is limited to a maximum of 50 percent of his exports," explained Director of Customs Facilities at the Ministry of Finance, Untung Basuki, in a written statement, Tuesday (5/7).
The types of industries in bonded zones vary. Some of them are the textile, horticulture, automotive, and crude palm oil (CPO) refinery fields.
Meanwhile, at the KITE facility, Untung explained that it was divided into three. First, the Exemption KITE, namely the Import Duty Exemption Facility and Import VAT are not collected on the import of raw materials to be processed, assembled, installed, and their products exported.
Second, the Returning KITE is a Import Duty Refund Facility on imported raw materials to be processed, assembled, installed, and their products exported.
Third, KITE IKM is a facility provided for IKM that performs processing, assembling, or installing raw materials whose production is for export purposes.
Furthermore, to maximize industrial, export, and economic activities in the SEZ, business actors receive customs facilities, both in the form of incentives and procedural.
Along with the enactment of the Job Creation Act, DJBC also improved regulations, especially those related to SEZs and free trade zones to maintain the good value of Indonesia's exports.
“These SEZ companies are spread throughout Indonesia. There are various types, including tourism such as in Mandalika, then there is a manufacturing industry such as in Kendal. In the future, there will be several SEZ themes, such as education and health SEZs,” said Untung.
Until 2022, there are 1,393 companies that have obtained Bonded Zone Facilities and 471 companies that have received KITE Facilities. Of the number of recipients of the KITE Facility, there were 113 companies that received the IKM KITE Facility.
This number increased significantly from the previous number of 74 in 2019. This shows the Directorate General of Customs and Excise's great commitment to providing guidance to export-oriented SMEs.
